Domaine la Brune has been owned by the Brunet family for three generations. Today, Julien runs the estate alongside his father, carrying on the family’s tradition with the same hands-on commitment. The name “La Brune” comes from a dark-colored statue of the Virgin Mary discovered while ploughing a field. According to local legend, the oxen knelt when they saw it. The statue is now kept in the Notre-Dame de la Brune chapel.

The vintage
The 2024 vintage was shaped by challenging weather conditions. Spring brought strong disease pressure, summer drought reduced yields, and heavy September rains added further complexity. Yet the quality of the wines shows the expertise, resilience and adaptability of our winegrowers & winemaking team.
Terroir
Located near the small village of Laroque-Alric, in the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine la Brune’s grenache vines grow in a single block at 300m high. The soils are mainly clay and limestone.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity, freshness and the natural expression of the terroir.
