"Grey Jurassic clays. Rich, sweetly fruited, spicy and peppery on the nose. Enticing. The palate is very bold with some chocolate, herbs, meat and spice as well as dense cherry and berry fruits. Forward and enticing, with some structure, too."

The vintage

2023 was a year full of contrasts: warm temperatures at the end of December and beginning of January raised concerns about early budding; a return to normalcy continued until February with relatively cool weather; a persistent drought accompanied by a strong Mistral wind, followed by regular rainfall until the end of June. Thanks to constant vigilance in the vineyards, the berries were healthy and well-ripened when harvest started, promising one of the finest vintages of the past decade.

Average age of the vines : 35 years.
Altitude of the Vineyard : 250 mètres.

Terroir

Located north of the village of Lafare, the "La Beaume" terroir (Farisiens) consists primarily of oxfordian black marl dating from the Upper Jurassic period (140-150 million years B.C.).

Winemaking

Manual harvest at optimum maturity. Grapes are sorted and destemmed. Fermentation at controlled temperatures and ageing 12 months in vats.
