The estate takes its name from the horse's ancestor called "Hipparion", which used to live in this area several million years ago. Some fossils can still be found on the hills around the village of Visan.

Tasting
This wine opens on the nose with greedy notes of black fruit. On the palate, there are blackberry and cherry notes as well as cocoa notes on the finish, all wrapped up in velvety tannins.

The vines are located north-west of the village, at 200m high.
Terroir
Sandy marls terraces.
Winemaking
Syrah and Grenache grapes are vinified separately in concrete vats. Fermentation at controlled temperatures (28-30°C). Maceration lasts around 15 days.
