Beaumes de Venise : two anniversaries celebrating an exceptional terroir
Published : 2025-06-20

Since the arrival of Greek settlers in the 5th century BCE, the terroir of Beaumes de Venise has been shaped by the cultivation of vines and olive trees. In 1945, Muscat Petit Grain, the region’s iconic grape variety, achieved AOC Vin Doux Naturel status, ensuring the quality and preservation of its ancestral craftsmanship. In 2005, after decades of dedication, the Beaumes de Venise red Cru joined the prestigious list of Rhône Valley Crus. Established in 1956, the Beaumes de Venise cooperative played a pivotal role in developing these appellations, now producing 60% of Muscat natural sweet wines volumes and 50% of the red Cru. The cooperative has earned a well-deserved reputation for crafting wines of exceptional quality.
These anniversaries set the tone for a festive year in Beaumes de Venise and for the Winery in particular. A series of events and tastings will enliven our tasting cellar, showcasing the three terroirs of the Dentelles de Montmirail. These celebrations also highlight the values that unite our artisan winegrowes : passion, solidarity, knowledge sharing, and a drive for reinvention. More than just a tribute to the past, these events are an invitation to explore the authenticity and richness of a vineyard with much to offer.
Guided by a commitment to quality and environmental stewardship, the Beaumes de Venise Winery is dedicated to sustainable wine tourism and agriculture. It supports it winegrowers in continually improving their pratices. With deep roots in its terrritory and a forward - looking vision, the cooperative continues to elevate these two appellations in both French and international markets.
