The QR Code : a window into our wines

Since December 8, 2023, wines and spirits must provide consumers with ingredient lists and nutritional information. Although this rule effectively applies only from the 2024 vintage for still wines, we are taking a proactive approach by integrating nutritional QR codes on most of our labels starting from the 2023 vintage, in a testing phase.

The QR Code, more than an obligation, an opportunity !

This initiative is a voluntary step on our part, preceding regulatory obligation, to strengthen the trust relationship with our consumers. They will thus be able to better understand and appreciate the complexity and richness of our wines. By sharing information about often overlooked aspects, such as the importance of malic acid or the use of stabilizin agents to preserve the quality of our wines over time, we enhance our customers’ experience and highlight the work of our Artisans Winegrowers.

Like any regulation, this one will likely evolve over time. In the short term, by scanning the QR code, our consumers will have immediate and exclusive access to nutritional information. In the future, this QR Code could incorporate sorting, recycling information, or any other relevant details. By 2027, it may even begin to replace the UPC code used for product identification in stores.

At the same time, 2024 will be a year of revamping our product information sheets to provide even more precise and relevant information: testimonials from our artisan winemakers, parcel locations, vinification processes, etc. Depending on the range and the target audience, different levels of information will be highlighted.
